Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 29, 2026 · Last updated: June 29, 2026

⚠️ Template — not legal advice. Have a lawyer review before publishing, especially the biometric/facial-data and cross-border sections.

This Privacy Policy explains how Joshua Fraser ("Olli," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Olli mobile application (the "App"). By using the App you agree to this Policy.

1. Who we are

Olli is a mobile app that lets you search for where a face publicly appears online by submitting a photo. Olli is operated by Joshua Fraser, based in British Columbia, Canada. Contact: support@ollisearch.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Photos you submit — transmitted to our servers and to our search provider (FaceCheck.id) to perform the search.
  • Search activity — results returned and a history of your searches (top match, source, score, timestamp, image reference), stored primarily on your device and clearable any time.
  • A device identifier — a random ID tied to your credits, subscription status, and referrals. No name, email, or login (the App has no account system).
  • Purchase information — handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We never receive or store your payment card details.
  • Technical and log data — standard server logs used to operate and secure the service.

3. How we use information

  • To perform searches you request and return results.
  • To track and apply your credits, subscriptions, and referral rewards.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the App and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. Photos and facial-recognition data

  • To run a search, your photo is sent to our third-party provider, FaceCheck.id, which compares it against publicly available web images. See facecheck.id.
  • We do not store your submitted photo after the search completes. It is transmitted solely to perform the search you requested.
  • We do not use your photo to build or sell a persistent biometric profile.
  • You are responsible for the photos you submit and represent that you have the legal right and any required consent to search for the person depicted.
  • Facial geometry may be "biometric" or "sensitive" data where you live; by using the App you consent to the processing described here.

5. How we share information

Only as needed to run the App: FaceCheck.id (searches), Apple (purchases), RevenueCat (subscriptions/entitlements), Supabase (hosting/backend), and for legal/safety reasons. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Data retention

Submitted photos are not retained by us after the search; our provider may retain data per its own policy. Search history lives on your device and is removed when you clear it or delete the App. Records tied to your device identifier are kept while the App is in use and for a reasonable period afterward for fraud-prevention, accounting, and legal purposes.

7. Your choices and rights

Clear your history any time in settings. To request access to or deletion of data tied to your device identifier, email support@ollisearch.com. Depending on location (Canada/PIPEDA, EU/GDPR, California/CCPA) you may have additional rights. Delete the App to stop all collection.

8. Do Not Track

There is no industry standard for responding to "Do Not Track" signals, and the App does not currently respond to them.

9. U.S. state privacy rights

Residents of California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws (e.g. Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia) may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain processing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Contact support@ollisearch.com.

10. Children

Olli is not intended for anyone under 17, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. You must not submit photos of any person under 18. If you believe a child has used the App or a minor's photo was submitted, contact us and we will delete the associated data.

11. Security

We use industry-standard measures (HTTPS, server-side secrets, access controls). No method is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International transfers

We and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the App you consent to these transfers.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy; material changes are shown by the "Last updated" date. Continued use means you accept the update.
