These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Joshua Fraser ("Olli," "we," "us") governing your use of the Olli app (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 17 years old and able to form a binding contract.
Olli lets you submit a photo and searches publicly available sources (via FaceCheck.id) for images that may match the face. It is an informational tool only.
Results are generated automatically from third-party public sources and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or mismatched. A "match" is a statistical similarity, not a confirmed identification. Do not rely on results as fact — independently verify before acting.
You will use Olli only for lawful purposes and only to search for people who have consented or where you otherwise have a lawful basis. You will not:
For every photo you submit, you warrant that you have the legal right to submit it, you have any consent required to search for the person depicted, and your use complies with all applicable laws. You are solely responsible for how you use the App and any results.
Olli offers consumable credits, one-time purchases, and auto-renewing subscriptions, sold through Apple In-App Purchase. Subscriptions renew until cancelled in your Apple account settings. All payments, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple per Apple's terms; we generally do not provide refunds. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may be forfeited for violations. We may change features, pricing, or offers at any time.
THE APP AND ALL RESULTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant the App is uninterrupted, error-free, or that results are accurate or complete.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, or loss of profits, data, goodwill, or reputation. Our total aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CAD $100.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Joshua Fraser from any claims, damages, liabilities, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your submitted photos, your use of results, or your breach of these Terms or any law.
The App relies on third parties (FaceCheck.id, Apple, RevenueCat, Supabase). We are not responsible for their services or content, and your use may be subject to their terms.
The App — including its design, content, the "Olli" owl mascot, logos, and software — is owned by Joshua Fraser. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or reverse engineer any part of it.
You retain ownership of your photos. You grant us a limited license to process and transmit them solely to provide the search you request. We do not retain submitted photos after a search completes.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature, credit, or price at any time, with or without notice, and are not liable for any unavailability or change.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, including for violations or suspected abuse. Provisions that should survive (e.g. §§3–10, 15–17) survive termination.
Before bringing any claim, contact us at support@ollisearch.com and try to resolve it informally for at least 30 days. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Subject to applicable consumer law, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in British Columbia, Canada.
These Terms with the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement and supersede prior agreements. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remain. Our failure to enforce is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign to a successor.
We may update these Terms; material changes are effective when posted (shown by the "Last updated" date). Continued use means you accept the update.
